The largest in the first wave of Star Wars TFA sets, "Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle" makes an excellent addition to any fan of Star Wars and/or Legos collection!Starting off with the pros of this set, I really enjoyed the building process! Including over 1000 pieces, the shuttle does take a while to build (I spaced the building process out over 3 days because I like to take my time with lego building.) The minifigs included are awesome! My favorite out of all of them is definitely Kylo Ren! The First Order stormtrooper commander and General Hux are also great! The set has decent playability for those who want to fly it around, have battles, etc. The cockpit is divided into 2 sections. The front is where the pilot seat and loading ramp is. And the back is a smaller storage compartment but also has room to (rather tightly however) seat a couple minifigures. Now for the cons (even though there are not many). First off, the price for this set when I purchased it was $119.99. This was right after it was released though and the retail for it since has dropped to 99.99 I believe. I was not completely convinced after getting it and putting it together that it was worth 119. Even though it was a lot of fun to build and looks great and everything, it is not 100% movie accurate. In the movie the shuttles wings are seen folded out several times. While the wings on the set do extend and have small flaps that fold out on the bottom, you do not have the ability to fold the entire wings to make it look like in the film. Also the colors are a bit off as well. In the movie, the ship was a darker shade of gray or black instead of the lighter gray that we get in the set. Also it seemed like there should have been more red pieces as well for the windows in front.Overall, I would say this set is great and definitely worth picking up if you can find one for $100 or under. As an AFOL, specifically of Star Wars sets, this set was a must have item. Although I believe that the $119.99 price point is about $20.00 more than it should be. I've noticed that in recent years that LEGO has put somewhat of a premium on Star Wars sets, and this may be due to the royalties involved with the Disney/Star Wars franchise. Fortunately, I was able to snag this set when it was marked down on Amazon (thanks AMZ!), and I could not be happier with my purchase. While I was disappointed by the lack of mobility in the wings (as others have mentioned), it did not affect my overall review of this product. I would add that the wings themselves are ABSURDLY HUGE. Like Donald Trump HUGE. Going back and watching TFA, it does appear that Kylo Ren's ship does have some pretty long wings, but I don't know if this set does them proper justice.Probably my biggest gripe about this set is the choice of mini-figures that LEGO elected to include. I would have liked to see a Capt. Phasma figure as part of this set, and possibly a Poe or Rey figure. It also seems to me that there should be some kind of pilot in this set, and there is not. Per LEGO's own description, the mini-figures included are:"Kylo Ren, General Hux, First Order Officer, 2 First Order Crew and a First Order Stormtrooper Officer"Who is flying this ship? Is Ren using the force?Plus at the $119.99 price point, I'd like to think that maybe, just maybe, you'd get one or two resistance fighters included in the mix.I think LEGO missed the mark with this set, based on the information above. Overall I was "satisfied" with my purchase, because I saved quite a bit and got this item on sale. Had it not been for that, I would have been slightly more upset at this purchase. At the end of the day, I'll buy anything that is Star Wars & LEGOs - but for those that are trying to decide if this is the ONE set they're going to buy as a gift for a child, I'd consider my comments above before purchasing.Cheers! This vessel is a remarkable upgrade from the previous command shuttles used by the Empire. The First Order is outfitted with an impressive array of communication equipment that enables the crew to ensure that it can control forces from across vast distances, which is important because Outer Space is BIG. It also has a hybrid propulsion system that ensure Kylo Ren and his officers are keeping within the First Order equipment purchase regulations, which are designed to cut emission down while they're cutting rebellions down. The wings fold from the top and bottom into a landing mode, but I assure you that the ship will still have similar handling and acceleration characteristics despite the wings' orientation. The cabin is spacious, but for most there is standing room only. The pilot is afforded luxurious plastic reclining chair, which is a rare luxury for most Lego spacecraft. The personnel are typical First Order evil attack officers, except in this one there is a smoking-hot First Order female officers. Her evil is proportional to her beauty, so watch out rebels! These kits do seem expensive. But the quality, definition, and sheer experience of building them and using them afterward is amazing! The intricate and highly functional designs remain unrivaled - keeping pace with changing technologies and even the educated imaginations of today's children. My grandson is now 6 - and since old enough to enjoy toys of such sophistication, he has assembled and enjoyed Star Wars Lego sets with most of the family who support him in the efforts. Each time I hessitated - but then bought him a set where the cost seemed high - after assembled - the finished models proved astonishing and a good investment. In this era of electronics and gadgets that seem to rely too heavily on video as a means of mind stimulation for kids - Legos still exercise the imagination to true action and creativity. This is an incredible set and a GREAT addition to his collection. My son purchased this with his paper route money. This is an older model of the shuttle. In order to have the wings fold out, he went on the internet and found instructions on removing some pieces so it would do that. He needed the help of his dad to do this. Overall, he loved putting this together and even enjoyed modifying it. I think it was well worth the money he spent.Boat load of parts, my 8. 5 year old built it himself after a minor incident where i explained i was not going to help and he needed to follow the instructions and go back if something was wrong. All good and three to four evenings later he completed it.Got it for CA$100 sale. Totally worth it. The different kinds of pieces makes this set really good for building all sorts of things with little limitations. The similarity to the real shuttle however, is way off.GrazieEs un set muy bonito y grande. Las piezas y los muñecos son de buena calidad. El envío llego antes de lo esperado y en excelentes condiciones.
