The Resistance X-Wing Fighter is one of the better LEGO sets my son has built this year. My son is nine years old, so he was able to build it in five hours. Compared to the Millenium Falcon, he thought this one was a cinch to build. The most difficult part to build was the nose piece. There were many pieces that required accurate placement. The PROS:1) There are two wings on each side, and the bottom wing flaps up and down as my son flys it in the air. There is a rubberband that links the two wings which allows this movement.2) There are six torpedos (two red ones on each wing that can be engaged simultaneously and two smaller ones by the cockpit). It comes with extras in case they get lost.CONS:1) It could be made to be a little more challenging. The age bracket is 8-14 years old. I'm only saying this, because for the money spent, I was hoping it would require a longer duration for the construction phase.2) One of the back burners falls off when my son flys the Fighter vertically.I would recommend this set, because my son really has fun with it. It is pretty neat watching the lower wings flap as you fly it.My son, 7, purchased this with his own money and built it. He has played with it every day since. ( a couple of weeks now. ). It is a great model and it's bringing him a lot of joy! The instructions are clear, and there were lots of extra pieces, which seemed to make him happy. I'm not a Star Wars fan, but I like this ship and the lego sets. I think most boys 7-13 would really enjoy this.My kids love them. They are 9 and 7. It's great family game. Not suitable for teenagers. We played it as 2 sides Parents vs Kids and we had a blast. It last longer than 20mins, depending on how you play your Force cards. Sometimes you already have a whole planet but one force card can make you lose all your bases in that planet thus the game goes on..... Will not work well if kids doesn't know how to read unless partner with an adult or someone who can.Another X-Wing fighter set? Are you serious? I don't even care that you have another one just like this (but with better colors)...with pretty much the same characters (Poe & BB-8). You could literally make this set in doo-doo brown, and I'd buy it.In fact, I may just order two of these. If you have to have one set, and you can only have one set from the Star Wars universe....I recommend you buy an X-Wing Fighter.Buy it, build it, LOVE IT!Probably my favorite X-Wing set thus far. I have the two white X-Wings from the original trilogy, but the look and construction of this model is absolutely amazing. As a Lego enthusiast in my 20s, I don't find as much value in the shooting functions. While this is a great addition for kids in terms of playability, I'll be removing these features. As for the price, it's hard to beat $56 when the original price was $80.I got this for my boyfriend for his birthday as a nostalgia item. My boyfriend loves LEGOS, has loved LEGOS since he was a kid and he was thrilled to get this model. He spent three hours building it and has it displayed on his desk. I'll admit it's pretty cool looking. He enjoyed building it and I was happy he was happy. This would be a lot of fun to build with the kids or just to construct as a collector.Another off the charts great toy from LEGO. I know they are spendy, but saving a bit extra all year to be able to give LEGO's is something I will always try to do. They are a quality toy and so versatile too. These things last FOREVER! The Star Wars collection of LEGO's is going to be around for a long time too.....so picking up a set here and there will always be a wonderful gift.A really clever piece of Lego tech. My son and I spent time 3 days building this - It's best to take your time on these and take breaks! The finished item is a great Lego version of a Star Wars Iconic starfighter. Enjoy!
