This is a 2002 set that I can safely say I love. I remember growing up wanting this as a kid, and now that I have finally gotten it, I feel that much more whole. The box was in great condition and was unopened since its original packaging date. The instructions were clear and easy to understand. The only problem is the color printing on the pages: the light grey pieces look white, and the white pieces also look white, so it was confusing at times. All parts were in great condition and painted very beautifully. Even the minifigures were exquisite for their time. I was actually surprised to see that there were two alternate builds for this model. The set came with a 2002 catalog that I looked through and could feel myself as a child again. This whole experience was an incredibly enjoyable one for me. Looking at all of the new sets on the shelves at work, I can definitely see a huge improvement in the overall quality in builds since the early 2000's.Felt like I was opening up a time capsule. The best lego I have ever owned the slave 1 itself has loads of features everybody and there grandma know the ship can tilt to flying position and drop bombs. But my favorite feature is the escape pod the uses a magnetPFast delivery and product was as advertised!!I was given this set as a gift about 7 years ago, and I still have it. And now, I decided to write a review of sorts.Let's start with the obvious: this Lego version of the original Slave 1 (named by Jango himself... small SW fact) is different from the ship you saw in Episode 2; not TOO much however :) The nose is shorter, and the wings (are they wings?) lower, placed at the middle of the ship, when in "flying" position. The engines also look different. But the differences end there; it is still quite similar to the film counterpart. Now to what this ship has and does... It can drop bombs from the back, the bottom guns are moveable, there are two machine guns that come out from the sides, the nose hides rockets (which you fire with your imagination :) The ship holds a container (put stuff in it!) in the middle (right under the pilot seat) for... some reason. But its true purpose is holding the pilot seat in place, and removing the container will make the seat and wing's rotation a bit off. But it is unlikely you will want to remove it anyway. It will take someone x-perienced about half an hour to build this, but any child over 7 could do it as well (just not as fast). The ship is FAIRLY durable and holds together more or less, but, I should remind you, that most of the bigger Lego SW sets are not for active playing. Be careful with the model; it needs your love to remain in your collection for many years. Are you a child who wants a kool Lego SW ship? Or are you a Lego fan or a collector? A fan of both Lego and Star Wars ships?? Either way, this set is a nice purchase, just make sure you find an affordable copy (since it is a rather old set).P.S. Jango and Boba both look very nice, no complaints there.Great item. Thank you.1 word- WOW. I picked this kit up the week it came out, and it kept surprising me every step of the way through construction, it is much better than the Boba Fett Slave I released earlier. Detail is just amazing, right down to the magnetically-held slave cage and the fold-out missile launchers. Jango even gets his twin blaster pistols. The only low points are that the "wings" fall off fairly easily, and the bomb bay will most likely give you some frustration while building it. The worst part about this kit is that it's that there's not an easy way to hold it one-handed, so it becomes a little awkward to chase the Jedi Starfighter with. If you can live with that, grab this one!Our good friends at lego did a much better job this time on creating Jango Fett's Slave I than they did with Boba's. A lot bigger and better looking, but not quite as durable. One of the coolest features would have to be the rotating wings and cockpit which ensures that the pilot is always as comfortable as posible by sitting upright even when the ship is on its back. The two twin-barreled rotating laser cannons are not affected by gravity, and all of you know that when you left the original down for a while the canons would start to aim down. The opening compartments on the side reveal two heat seeking rockets and the ships translucent power generator. An additional two compartments give space for Jango's two laser blasters and his wig, if you can't find anywhere else to put it. And the magnetically held and detachable cargo-bay escape pod prison cell (whatever you want it to be) adds to the list. Not to mention the three siesmic charges. Boba and Jango could have been made a little better, and the ship is kindof heavy and hard to lift. Other than that, it's one crazy son of a lot of guns!!Flo & Alfs house of bricks supplied this set to me. Outstanding customer service, will use again and would recommend without reservation.perfect on all aspects of the purchase
